You’re invited to the inaugural Walk to Remember, hosted by Vida, this October. Walk to Remember is a memorial walk to remember children lost through miscarriage, stillbirth, early infant/childhood death, abortion, and other reproductive losses.
This walk and memorial is for all families who have lost children at any time, both recently or in the past; caregivers who are involved in the lives and support of these families; and anyone interested in attending in support.
In the month of October, people around the country reflect on pregnancy and infant loss. During this time, thousands of parents, their friends and families, health professionals, military personnel, clergy, and others across the United States will be participating in the “Remembrance Walk.” The first “Remembrance Walk” was held on September 26, 1986 at the 5th National Perinatal Bereavement Conference in Chicago. Now, during October, the walk continues in communities throughout the United States.
This year, Vida will be hosting the walk at St. Pius X Church on October 14, 2023. The walk starts and ends at St. Pius X Church. Please arrive starting at 9:30 a.m. The walk will begin at 10 a.m. Following the walk, we will be having a memorial and ceremony along with fellowship and refreshments.
Although circumstances of losses greatly vary, there is a common need shared to remember all the children whose precious lives ended too soon, grieve and heal from such loss, and know that you are not alone.
Let us gather together to walk, to remember, and to offer support to one another.
