If you’re pregnant and worried about money, it’s understandable to wonder whether abortion is the only practical option. While financial stress can strongly influence how a situation feels, it does not automatically determine your choices.
Taking time to explore available support and confirm key details about your pregnancy can help shift the focus from immediate fear to informed consideration.
At Vida Medical Clinic, free and confidential pregnancy services are available, including pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, and one-on-one consultations. These visits offer a place to ask questions, discuss concerns, and learn about available resources based on your situation.

Understand the Options
An unplanned pregnancy may lead to three possible paths: abortion, adoption, or parenting. Each option involves different financial, medical, and emotional considerations.
- Parenting: Parenting may feel out of reach financially; however, support and resources are available. Vida Parent Support Services is one of our wonderful programs that is available locally. In addition to our program, the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program provides nutrition support, breastfeeding education, and healthy food benefits to eligible pregnant and parenting individuals at no cost. Also, Wisconsin Medicaid and BadgerCare Plus may cover prenatal care, labor and delivery, and postpartum care for those who meet income requirements.
- Adoption: If continuing the pregnancy without parenting feels right, adoption can be an option. Vida can provide information about adoption, help you think through what an adoption plan might involve. In Wisconsin, state law outlines circumstances in which certain pregnancy- and adoption-related expenses, such as medical care, counseling, and limited living expenses, may be covered, depending on individual circumstances.
- Abortion: If you’re considering abortion, understanding the medical procedures, timing, and potential risks is essential so decisions are based on accurate information rather than financial pressure alone. Vida Medical Clinic does not provide or refer for abortions.
