At this time, Vida is making efforts to minimize exposure and reduce transmission of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) to our patients, clients and staff. As a result, Vida Support Services is closed. Support Services will respond to voicemails during regular business hours. All appointments in Vida Medical Clinic must be scheduled with a nurse over the phone. Appointment dates and times are limited. No support persons will be allowed in the clinic. Nurses will be asking the following questions before scheduling an appointment:
- Do you have a fever, or have you had a fever in the last 14 days?
- Do you have any symptoms of a lower respiratory illness (cough, difficulty breathing, etc.), or have you had any of these symptoms within the last 14 days?
- Have you traveled outside of the United States or to any high risk area as identified by the Center for Disease Control and updated daily on the list found at the following link cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travels/index.html ?
- Have you had close contact with a person who has a confirmed case of the COVID-19 disease? Or, have you had close contact with a person who exhibited symptoms of a lower respiratory illness (cough, difficulty breathing, etc.) within the last 14 days?
If the answer to any of these questions is yes, Vida will be unable to schedule an appointment. Individuals with an apparent mild illness will be encouraged by the nurse to contact their healthcare provider by phone for guidance about clinical management or an agency designated to handle potential COVID-19 patients. Individuals who report severe symptoms such as difficulty breathing, will be directed to seek care immediately.
We’re not going anywhere! Vida has a big and generous family of staff, volunteers, and supporters who care deeply about the individuals and families we serve. Our doors will be wide open for service as soon as it is safe to do so.
