Vida is committed to empowering and educating the next generation

Through Youth Outreach, Vida educates the next generation to empower them to make healthy, life-affirming choices. From youth groups and classroom presentations to parental resources, Vida provides free resources and information to young adults, parents, educators, and the community.

Educators and Youth Group Leaders

Vida provides free sexual health education presentations to area schools, youth groups and clubs, and other community groups. We can tailor the presentation to meet your group’s needs. Our presentations:

Provide factual, medical information regarding sexual health 
Discuss optimal sexual health focused on risk avoidance
Review the risks of sex such as STI and pregnancy
Discuss healthy relationships and boundary setting
Consider youths’ goals for their future
Discuss Vida’s services

We believe that teaching our youth how to avoid risk, have healthy relationships, and set goals empowers them to have a plan for each season of their life. Teaching our youth about optimal sexual health, sexually active or not, equips them to make healthy choices.

Vida offers the following options for sexual health education presentations:

Information Session: Meet with Vida’s Nurse Outreach Manager to learn more about Vida’s sexual health education program and discuss how we can meet your groups’ needs.
Classroom Presentation: Vida’s Nurse Outreach Manager will come to your classroom to present Vida’s sexual health education program
Youth Group Presentation: Vida’s Nurse Outreach Manager will come to your youth group to present Vida’s sexual health education program
Tour & Presentation at Vida: Bring your group for a tour of Vida and receive Vida’s sexual health education program presentation at Vida Medical Center

Health Fairs

Vida regularly participates in community and group health fairs. We offer health information, as well as information about all of Vida’s free and confidential services.

Parent Resources

Whether you’re a homeschooling family or a parent looking for additional information and programming to support teaching sexual health education to your child, Vida has the resources available. Our medically accurate, interactive, and easy-to-understand curriculum and resources include information on developing healthy relationships, reducing unhealthy behaviors, risk avoidance, STIs, and more sexual health information.

Students

If you are a high school or college student and have become pregnant, you may be experiencing normal feelings of fear, anxiety and hopelessness. Vida helps students find answers to questions like:

Can I finish school while I am pregnant?
What will my friends at school say and think?
How do I tell my parents?
What if my boyfriend doesn’t want to support me?
What do I do if I can’t afford a baby?
What do I do if I don’t know anything about parenting?
What is adoption like?
Is abortion right for me?

All our medical and support services are free and confidential. We have pregnancy materials and resources designed especially for students to help you learn about your pregnant young body and labor and delivery from a student’s perspective.
